The concept behind the emblem for the Sunday School curriculum at MCBC was already very thought out by the Sunday School paster. In John 15:5, Jesus says to His disciples, "I am the vine, you are the branches." Stemming from the idea that all believers are likewise branches of the same Vine, the tendrils of the branches depict the steadfast bond that brothers and sisters in Christ form when they grow in God's word together and come alongside one another.

The theme for the 2017 Ladies' day outing came from Psalm 18:30:
"As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him." This means the Lord and all He says has been tested and proven to be perfect and faithful in all things, therefore believers can rest assured in God's provision and protection.

In designing the emblem, an overall shield shape seemed essential. I echoed the shape of an open Bible that appears in Mount Calvary's logo. With the open Scripture centered over a stripe running the length of the shield, how many other symbols of Christianity do you see?
